AOCC

AOCC is a vital component of LQ OP, the mission of AOCC is to engage groups of 10-15 court impacted youth, to explore arts, music and literature together as tools for building, maintaining and strengthening coping, positive image and self- discovery.

We stand on the truth that education is fundamentally a practice of freedom- an intentional process that reconnects young people to their identity, voice and potential within a supportive community.

β€œThe school to prison pipeline disproportionately funnels youth of color and marginalized communities from educational settings into criminal justice systems.”

We develop curricula that apply critical life skills. We equip youth with knowledge and strategies to reduce the risk of offending and reoffending, empowering them to thrive in their personal journey and within their community, while preparing them for long-term success through employment readiness and educational opportunities

Progressivism- Based Curriculum Description

Rooted in progressivism, all curriculum is contextual, honoring each learner's experiences and cultural background as the foundation for growth.

With clear intention, it fosters curiosity, problem-solving, and collaborative learning that connect directly to real-world challenges.

It's dimensional design integrates academic skills, emotional intelligence, creativity, and civic engangement - ensuring that education is active, relevant, and tranformative.

The program's ultimate goal is to empower people to become the best version of themselves while cultivating the capacity to improve and contribute meaningfully to their communities.
