LQ OP AOCC is taking a short break until January 2026 to focus on revamping our programs, strengthening connections, and preparing for an impactful new year.

During this time, you can still reach me via email or text message, and scheduled meetings will be available one week in advance.

October 21 & 22 the Alliance for Higher Education in Prison will host the second Incarcerated Scholars Conference.

The Incarcerated Scholars Conference is a chance to unite voices from across the country, fostering collaboration and solidarity. 

ISC is an annual, virtual academic conference that centers the voices of currently incarcerated scholars, graduates, and artists. This year’s conference theme is Pathways to Possibility.

Tami was accepted to participate!!

Although disheartened by the lack of Zoom access at the facility to join live, she successfully submitted an Expressive Arts Plenary that was accepted for presentation.

Tami Eldridge, Bedford Hills G*S.T.A.R.Z Step Team will be featured as follows:

Oct. 22: Step Video - 2:00 - 2:30 PM EST

The video was previously featured at the Arts in Action Festival in New York on September 10, 2023. If you missed it previously now’s your chance to experience it for yourself.

Yellow Voices, Endless Possibilities

A yellow ribbon is a universal symbol of hope and remembrance. It mirrors #HERLYFE mission to honor incarcerated women while advocating for freedom and second chances. Yellow carries happiness, optimism, and cheerfulness. Yellow signifies intellect and knowledge. October is already a month of awareness campaigns — like Breast Cancer Awareness with pink. Yellow is more than just a color this October — it’s a beacon of hope, strength, and light for women whose voices deserve to be seen and heard.

You can support #HERLYFE this October by wearing yellow: carry a yellow ribbon and/or add yellow accents to your outfits.
